This was sold to me as a favia a while back. I'm just trying to figure out if that's what it is. The eyes have very tiny tentacles that come out and the coral never puffs up at all, even after eating.

Here are some shots, two different lightings, the first has more actinic.

Being wrong is part of learning, so no worries! I never thought about it being a chalice mostly due to the amount of mouths it has. I have several chalices and some other favias, but this one is just different.

In the 6 months i have had it, it has not grown much. Only the mouths have gotten larger. So, i really don't know.

Was this a recovering coral? Looks like the mouths are reforming, into a more semetrical favia way. All the favia i have had have had the same sized mouth. I'm leaning towards favia.

It was fairly bleached when i got it from the store. It's taken all this time for it to settle out and start to grow.
