Is this a harmless bristleworm or should I catch and destroy? Thanks.

I have a gray one about 18in long in my tank. Scarrry looking thing. Dosn't seem to bother anything.

IME its the bright red ones with white bristles that are bad news.

Xcorallusx was being sarcastic. They don't sting you but their bristles will release into your hand or whatever comes in contact with them. They're harmless unless you touch them on accident. Some clear tape and blowing the water off is the easiest way I found to remove the bristles from my fingers. They are a (free) part of your CUC.

I used to have a huge one and tried to trap him all the time never caught him.
