I have a gray one about 18in long in my tank. Scarrry looking thing. Dosn't seem to bother anything.

Xcorallusx was being sarcastic. They don't sting you but their bristles will release into your hand or whatever comes in contact with them. They're harmless unless you touch them on accident. Some clear tape and blowing the water off is the easiest way I found to remove the bristles from my fingers. They are a (free) part of your CUC.

I saw a big one once, they are quick when they get bigger :) They are definitely nice to have, they eat detritus and any other dead stuff.
