Hello.

I picked up this baby RBTA a week ago. I notice that it spends a lot of time wide open (mouth is closed). The individual thought it was getting ready to split last week.

Is it good or does it need more light or flow?

Thanks

Although anemones often pictured with a certain shape, each one is unique. Looks healthy but may be getting too much bright light why its spread out like that.
Moderate light and water flow ids best and feed it mysis shrimp 1-2X per week

Nope that's a happy anem. Ugly wrinkled and stubby tentacles are signs of an unhappy/dying anem. I've killed 2 in the past. Now I've got two different anems and they both look like that. Especially post feeding.

Thanks. It is eating well. Has actually moved up the rock towards the light today compared to the last few days. It is also more stretched out than what it has been for the last few days.

Seems fine and unlike corals they can swim. If it doesn't like light and flow it will move until it does. Mouth itself gaping, shriveled or bleached tentacles, these are bad signs. None are visible here.
