Is this a stomatella snail?

I just found this crawling along the side of my tank, google search is saying it’s a Stomatella snail and that’s it’s ok to have in your tank, is anyone able to confirm this as we’re still only newbies and would hate for something to hurt the coral or fish in anyway.

In my 15 years in the hobby, I have never once managed to get a stomatella in my tank.

I’ve had every other beneficial hitchhiker but stomatellas

We’re new at this, have only bought 4 coral so far, Zoa’s, Alveopora, hammer and a Brain coral, we’ve had a bristle worm and now a stomatella, we got rid of the bristle worm as we didnt know what it was at first , we freaked out that it killed our Alveopora but have since been informed that it probably wasn’t the case but hitchhikers seem to be a regular occurrence

Don’t worry about bristleworms. We have loads and they do no harm. They just give you the shivers before bed!

Don’t worry about bristleworms. We have loads and they do no harm. They just give you the shivers before bed!

I’m aware of them now and know they do no harm so if I get anymore I won’t freak out and get rid of it

No I think that’s something different - not sure what they are called but they are also harmless cessile filter feeder - we also have loads of these especially in the sump. Maybe it’s called a tunicate? @ISpeakForTheSeas can confirm the name.

I remembered - they are affectionately known as pineapple sponges! And they are not tunicates they are Sycon sponges!

Ah thank you, I just looked them up and that’s definitely what they I’m sure, they look pretty much identical.
Shall I get rid of them or they ok to stay in the tank?

The more I look at my tank the more things I find, just found this on my hammer coral, starting to freak out that my tank is going to be overtaken by all these little critters!

Pineapple sponges are harmless - actually beneficial filter feeders so just leave them alone. You will see plenty of other life as you go down the road! Good luck and enjoy your tank!
As far as your latest photo I’m sorry but I can’t identify what that is. Maybe someone else can help with that one. I would say if you’ve dipped it and it’s still there it’s probably best to just leave it!

While those may be pineapple sponges, you are still likely correct. The stomatella is one of the few snails that will readily spawn in our aquariums. I started with just a few, but eventually had a ton of them, and they kept my tank super clean! I tried to start a little breeding tank for them, but it didn't work out. I would bet money that they are not sold in the hobby because they are such prolific multipliers.
