Hi there, I am setting up a new CADE tank and decided to go with the radions for lighting.
I am aware that the RMS stands sag, but just wanted to get peoples opinions on if the angle on mine was normal

it is a bit anxious watching something flimsy support something so valuable

thanks for the help

According to EcoTech - yes. There is another thread where they discuss this. I switched from rail to HOB but will be switching back to rail shortly.

Remove the black plastic piece in the clamp, it’s not needed and will help. Unfortunately there will still be some sag

That piece is for rimmed tanks - remove it like everyone else says.

What's weird about these things is that they're actually tilted down a little - like its not the mount sagging - its just not completely perpendicular to the arm. They're intentionally designed like that.

My suspicion is that a couple degrees of tilt makes no difference in the tank, but limits the visibility of the LEDs from the front a little - and makes it less glare-ey.

Also, anyone who thinks these are flimsy has clearly not bought anything from AI.

This is a long-standing issue that they will never admit is a problem. They don’t have any tilt recommended on the ceiling mounts, so why did they tilt this one? Anyway, I just wanna put this out there and I’m not recommending anything to anyone but you can bend these arms.
Take the light off the arm put a piece of wood on the inside bend, fix the short end and curved section against each other between two fixed wooden posts. slowly pull. It will bend ever so slight. It took me 3 attempts to get it level
