Hey everyone!
I just came back from groceries ane noticed my frogspawn is quite closed up and theres some kind of brown thing on it?
I have it for a few months and its been growing nicely for the last 3 months or so, going from 2 heads to about 5 or 6. i am dosing AFR daily.
In the last 1 to 2 weeks we are having a bit of a heatwave, so the temperature wasnt the most stable and got a bit higher (highest was 27.5 Degrees C).
Other corals didnt seem too stressed and are still opening nicely. Up to now the frogspawn also opened nicely.

Current parameters:
Alk 9.2
Cal 390
Mag 1340
Nitrate 20
Phos 0.1
Salinity 1.026

Im glad if someone can ease my mind or let me know what can be done! Thanks in advance

Here is another angle. Its not much yet, just want to be quick enough if needed.
Just 3 hours ago the frogspawn was fully opened. What could cause the polyp bailout in such a quick time? I didnt see any kinds of pest or anything on it. I usually check it daily and never saw anything on it

Thanks for your assessment. I hope too its just pooping.
I had some trouble with receeding fleshband on this frogspawn, but since i moved it it grew back a bit. Maybe its still not too big on the bottom left

It looks more like algae or detritus... can you blow it off with a turkey baster? Its not brown jelly, brown jelly is very obvious and this doesn't look like it.
I will try that when i get back home.
But im glad its not brown jelly, got me worried when i saw the brown and how closed up it was

Just got back home, the coral opened up a bit again, couldnt see much of the brown slime anymore.
Still got the coral out and smelled it, didnt smell bad at all, a bit of coral but not unpleasant or bad in any way. Also inspected the flesh band which looks good all around.

Guess its not bjd then, and im glad the coral looks better again. Thanks for your

Happy it’s doing well! Just a tip that I learned the hard way. Purchase some Cipro to have on hand incase bjd ever shows up. If you wait for bjd, by the time you get the cipro it will be to late.

And dont be afraid to just treat the whole tank. I messed around for about a year pulling corals and treating them in a qt tank only to have them get reinfected when they stressed for whatever reason. I know there is a lot of stuff unsure about what causes bjd whether its a bacteria or a virus but in my tank I believe it was bacteria since after the whole tank treatment it has not returned and all my euphyllia look better than ever, actually all the corals seemed to respond very well.
