This rock had a few featherdusters on it and I originally thought it was a featherduster when it was growing out. But now I know it is an algae of some sort. Can anyone ID? Bryopsis?

The urchin does not eat it. It was alot blue-ish color when it was smaller. Now it is blackish with some green hair algae mixed in there.

Thanks for the diagnosis.

Doesn't look like it, but another potentially invasive species

Thanks for the input. Trying to figure it out so I can find a way to remedy. I guess, I can always try to rip it out and scrub.

Manuar removal is a good start. Do you have any tangs? Do they touch it?

I just pulled the rock and put it in another tank where I have a whitetail bristletooth, juv purple tang and juv Desjardini sailfin tang in observation. No meds in that tank. I will see if they touch it.

If not, I was thinking of trying fluconazole in the smaller tank QT tank when the tangs are ready to go up to the DT.

I’ve got the same, I thought it was bryopsis and about to dose Fluconazole, not sure what to do now if it’s not bryopsis.
