Try taking a picture under white lights please. The purple drowns out the color to tell if it’s dying or not.

If your Chaeto is turning a grey color then it is dying. It's hard to tell in this photo but I think yours is dying. I run my lights 12 on 12 off and it grows like crazy.
I run from 8 pm to 7 am. I run the akce grow light from amazon. Other reefers claimed it worked well. I think the pump was off for a night so not sure if that messed it up ( no water in container).

Is that slime or bubbles. You probably need more flow.

What kind of lighting are you running
It’s tiny white particles on the strands.
I turned up the flow in the fuge. I had it down all the way. Acke led 24 watt

Probably pieces of sponge that started to grow and suffocate the chaeto from the flow being to low. Yea try turning it up bit and see if that helps.

Did you happen to stir up some detritus somewhere? When I used to use cheato and did some in depth cleaning, detritus would get stuck in it like a filter. I would have to clean the cheato occasionally.

Thanks man. I had it low because most tubers said to have the flow low. Hopefully this helps

Could be. I was gonna clean it after I cut it in half when it grows.

I have pretty moderate flow through my chaeto. To be honest I do not use filter socks so I encourage my chaeto to be the filter sock so I do not clean it just manicure it every week. Always nice thick and green! Hope this helps.

I have 2 small power heads in mine. I also use a similar Amazon light and it works great. I think the issue is flow.

Never said I didn't use the money for more coral! lol. I just dont buy much from LFS because I know a few guys that are aquaculturists and have everything my LFS has but for wholesale prices.
That’s the way to go.

Yeah I guarantee it's flow. It needs pretty high flow to keep it clean. Try to shake some of that stuff out and turn the flow up. It should bounce back pretty quick with that amount in there.
