Is this GSP ok or should I be afraid?

I got 2 beautiful GSP at our neighborhood coral store. One flowing green and full. The other.. I’m concerned. Should I be? (See picture 2).

Are you talking about picture one or 2 when you say be very afraid?

He’s saying that GSP (the nice, full one) spreads very quickly and is difficult to get rid of once it spreads onto your main rock work so you might want to think about keeping it separate in case you’d like to easily remove it later. Your decision, this is just what a lot of people do. I personally have mine in a place similar to yours because I like it. The second pic does not look like gsp at all to me. Can you describe the texture and behavior of the piece please? When gsp closes it has a purple, lumpy, encrusting base to it and the second pic appears to have long arms/ tentacles. Does it blow around like an anemone, or is it kind of rigid and tough?

Picture 1 is definitely GSP... which does spread like wild fire but in my opinion in a good way.
The 2nd pic I’m not sure... do you have a better picture? Does it have a polyp in the middle?

I too once got GSP thinking it was nice, and that i'd keep it isolated. I failed due to neglect, and took the decision to get rid of it sooner than later, since it was inevitable for it to take over the entire large rock. I have seemingly killed mine by dosing Fenbendazol . So far no other ill effects, and after nearly 2 months there is just a purple-ish residue where the GSP once thrived. Disappearing day by day. I love love my GSP and would love to see it grow like wildfire since they are so hardy! And I believe I may have solved what is on Picture 2. It is a Phyllodesmium briareum, a soft coral eating sea slug!! I’ve taken it to a smaller tank until I can figure out what to do with it because I don’t want it to eat my GSPs or whatever soft coral I have!! Hopefully it hasn’t killed the one I’ve taken it off of.

I would keep it and keep feeding it the gsp, this nudibranch is way more cool than the coral ;)

GSP does grow like crazy and will grow on anything it touches, even the glass. That means it should be isolated and will need to be trimmed regularly unless your aim is to have it covering everything. When it's closed it is a mat and to trim it I just use a razor blade and cut it back to the edges of the rock it's on. I love the look of it but it's not something you can just "set it and forget it".

I believe you've identified the second one and probably don't want it in your tank, although I agree with @sixty_reefer and think most nudibranchs are cool looking.
