Found this guy in the Gulf of Mexico while on vacation, is he reef safe?

This little guy is a Thin Stripe Hermit. It's technically reef safe, but not recommended. I believe it's their size that is cause for concern. They can get fairly big and can knock over smaller rocks, frags, etc. They will also kill snails for their shells.
