Why is everyone so darn sensitive and so easily offended these days? We all seem to agree that a $10 frag is cheap, yet if the seller actually says it’s “cheap”, to which we all agree, that is now rude and offensive somehow? Really!?! :rolleyes:

You must not understand commerce. If i spend 30 minutes communicating with a customer, then they buy a $10 frag, the net is zero. Maybe even negative. It is totally fair to say that they don’t have $10 cheap frags.

I think the seller also used that language in an attempt to shut down further inquiries. Saying he doesn't sell cheap stuff might feel rude because it feels like he's belittling you but really the seller is trying to politely (by impolitely) say "I'm out of the price range/budget you're shopping in".

Someone looking to buy 10$ frags isn't going to spend a few hundred on coral in general.

I have had Potential customers do me this way. They call me and ask if i can give them a price on x .. I go out and look at it and talk to them . They say i only have x amount of money to send . I Tell them this is how much it will cost to upgrade, fix or repair that On a LOW end side, Being Cheap tile, Cheap Vanity cabinets .. Or laminate instead of Hardwood flooring.. I use the WORD CHEAP a lot.. I put the word CHEAP Laminate .. Cheap OR LOW END Cabinets or Counter tops in the Contract and scope of work .. This is all to avoid Warranty repairs on Stuff that WILL Break.....

But i am not sure my work where i Install everything i sell reflects well to a Retail business. So if the OP Looks at this from the stand point of a Business like many and I said NO I DO NOT DO CHEAP.. Yeah that would be me being rude to someone with less money to spend.. I will install a cheap product but i tell them the Difference then Preferred Brands and Materials... and Let them Know up front on Warranty and potential issues.

Anyway .. Its probably not meant to be rude , ..

Nailed it!!! "Cheap" is also not offensive. Look at a sale for a high end frag and say "Dang, that's cheap!!!!".

If the OP is still around though, please realize the term was likely not meant to be offensive and don't let those of us disagreeing with you drive you away from the forum. For all we know, you had a really bad day. You fired an employee, got fired, wife left, who knows. Maybe you were on edge. Can't blame us for disagreeing, or laughing, but if you are in the hobby stay here a bit :)
