Is this thing eating my snails?

I'd appreciate an ID on this hitchhiker that came with new coral a few months ago. I suspect it has been eating the snails in the tank. Some googling suggests it may be a Murex predatory snail. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

I'm not a snail expert but the shape and those spikes do suggest a murex snail or a related species. Murex snail are predatory on clams, starfish, and other snails.
