1. We do not remove feedback threads for any reason. If you and the vendor are able to come to a resolution, a post can be made notifying all that your issue was able to be taken care of and the thread will then be locked. Also please note that the editing of posts after a resolution is not permitted, and the edited posts will be reverted back to their original content.
2. We do not remove negative feedback threads because a vendor is a sponsor. Just look in the vendor feedback forum and you'll see that there are many negative threads for even....yes....R2R sponsors.
3. Anyone is allowed to leave feedback in their on personal thread. We have rules that go along with leaving feedback for many reasons. While you are able to leave negative feedback you are not allowed to keep creating new feedback threads, hijacking other feedback threads or spamming the forums with negativity among other things. See here for the rules.
https://www.reef2reef.com/help/terms/ Also see here:
https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/feedback-forum-guidelines-please-read-before-posting.815606/
4. This thread is now being moved to the vendor feedback forum since it has turned into a full blown feedback thread. In accordance to our rules only the thread starter and vendor will be allowed to comment.
5. While we allow negative feedback, as a tool for the community and vendors, it is not the main goal of R2R to arbitrate or mitigate transactions between members and vendors or members and members. The negativity that comes from giant, "pile on" threads, is not what our community is about and we're not going to allow it.
6. The conspiracy that R2R "hides" or "deletes" feedback is bogus. Again just look and search the feedback forum here:
https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/vendor-feedback.18/ If you have a thread or a post go missing it's because you broke the rules and you'll get a note as to why exactly.
7. If we see a pattern of bad feedback about a vendor or a member we may revoke the sponsorship of a vendor or restrict a members account by not allowing them to sell items or advertise here anymore. We have done this in the past and would do it again if need be.
I understand that some of you are not going to like what I have to say here or even the rules of our community and that's ok. There are other platforms to air grievances.
Again....IF YOU HAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ABOUT A TRANSACTION YOU ARE ALLOWED TO CREATE ONE THREAD PER INSTANCE. YOU CAN POST UPDATES IN YOUR FEEDBACK THREAD.
Here are some various rules from our TOS and Rules to take note of that pertain to feedback:
- Feedback threads about specific vendors, companies and products are allowed as outlined by the TOS. But targeting a specific vendor, company or product in a general discussion where multiple members post dislikes, issues and harsh verbiage is not permitted and will be edited accordingly. Thread titles that are deemed to be overly harsh or inviting a dog pile mentality will be edited to conform to R2R’s guidelines and culture. Our aim is for R2R to be a friendly and welcoming culture for all. Using R2R as a vehicle to air grievances, feed a mob mentality or to cause general negative discourse is prohibited. R2R reserves the right to remove any thread, post, review, feedback, image etc. that might be considered a libelous statement against another member or company. When leaving a review please keep to the facts and avoid speculation and ranting. Our community forum is not a platform to resolves disputes or host rants. Reviews and feedback that do not adhere to these guidelines will be removed
- This forum is not intended to be a mechanism for people to vent frustrations about vendors or sales from private parties. Please settle your differences with the seller, manufacturer, and/or dealer through the long-established legal or arbitration systems or the Better Business Bureau but not through our community. In the case of a vendor, buyer or seller feedback thread the posting of emails, text messages and private messages are allowed as long as ALL personal info (names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.) have been removed.
- In an effort to prevent shilling or flaming, R2R regards the posting of feedback here as one of the marketplace privileges and therefore requires that members meet the requirement of having a minimum of 25 meaningful posts and 30 days of membership (R2R supporting members are exempt from this requirement). The exception to the minimum requirements for posting feedback is if it is from a transaction in the R2R marketplace (feedback must be accompanied by a link to the thread from which the purchase was made).
- We do not remove feedback threads for any reason. If you and the vendor are able to come to a resolution, a post can be made notifying all that your issue was able to be taken care of and the thread will then be locked. Also please note that the editing of posts after a resolution is not permitted, and the edited posts will be reverted back to their original content.
- Do not use this website as a platform to threaten lawsuits or stage boycotts.
- Do not leave feedback for a user unless a sales transaction has occurred.
- We take the "be nice" rule VERY seriously! We do not tolerate ANY rudeness.
- Trolling or cyber-bullying are NOT allowed and are grounds for account restriction or banishment. Harassment, stalking or predatory behavior will result in account suspension.
- You do indeed have an absolute right to free speech. However this forum is privately owned and requires members to abide by our rules and by the decisions of our staff.
- Be mindful of yourself and others. This forum is not a democracy; it is privately owned. If rules are violated we retain the right at our discretion to remove, edit or delete posts and, if necessary, ban or remove members.
