I have the Aqueon 50 watt preset (to 78) heater and it's the perfect size but doesn't believe up to the task. It has to be small around 7 or 8" or under ideally.

5 gal. Room temp will be around 73-75. I have an inkbird controller for a heater.
Since you have an inkbird any heater will do (for now) these preset small heaters are cheaper than cheap even compared to regular cheap aquarium heaters. I have a 10w heater that was cooking a 2 gallon before I put an inkbird on it. Another 10w that I've only had for a few months has already died.

I've used a few different types this year and they all seem unreliable and accurate. I would pick whatever one you can hide best in the tank, put it on the inkbird and buy a second one to replace it when it fails. At least with the inkbird it will fail off not on.

Going off the ledge: Would you be interested in a drop off aquarium?
