As far as I can tell, this is the only thing that has changed in my system recently. Parameters are all pretty stable. I picked some up a couple weeks ago, put in a mesh back in one of the compartments of my 25g Lagoon, and recently I've noticed some stn from the tips on a couple of my more sensitive sps.
Could this carbon be the culprit? It's supposed to be pretty concentrated and I followed the instruction but maybe over shot a little?

I run the same carbon and never had a issue. How is your alk?

Alk is around 8.1, right where it usually is. Even got the replacement reagent from Hanna today (as well as tested against a regular liquid test kit).

no possible contaminants on the mesh bag? are there any ticked off zoas or palys in the system? I hate mystery problems.. and even worse is losing coral. I'm sure you have a water change scheduled. hope you get it figured out brother.
I have never used the vertex brand but I love the brs 0.8 rox..

It's possible that the carbon stripped a little more out of theverything water than the sps are used to

Yep, did a 10-15% change today and removed the carbon.
No zoas or palys.

This is what I was wondering. This stuff is supposed to be pretty strong (if you believe the marketing) and its my first time using it.
