Video update later. Tank is doing good. Parameters seem to be in check. Been dosing phyto plankton and it has helped drop my Po4 considerably (maybe to much). Nitrates are down as well.
Will be doing some new experiments on the tank. Looking to try to induce spawning in my coral over the next 18 months. should be fun. I will be looking at changing light duration, temp, phyto dosing, and some other things to mimic a more natural reef. Got some data on ocean temps and light duration for St. Croix to use as my baseline. I'll be normalizing (or generalizing them) to keep things simple.
My single torch spawned baby seems to be doing very well, pic later. It is a bright gold one.
Clowns did not spawn in the clay pot. However they did spawn on the tile. So I have about 250 to 300 eggs that will hatch out near the end of the weekend or early next week. Will be moving the tile on hatch night to see if I can maximize the number of larvae I get. Phyto and rotifers are stable so should be a good run. I learned a lot on the first go around about prey density, tank size, aggression, tank cleaning, so hopefully it goes well.
