I've made enough posts, I should probably introduce myself.

Hello R2R! I'm Nick and I live just north of Seattle. I've loved aquariums for as long as I can remember, and have kept freshwater fish off and on for the last 30 years or so, only taking breaks between moves. This year, I started my first foray into saltwater.

I'm in the process of building a 40B mixed reef for my home office. Something to keep me occupied as I sit through boring meetings . I have a build thread going to document my journey, feel free to follow along if you're so inclined.

Just here to say hi, thank everyone for sharing their experience and look forward to the day I can provide some value to other noobs like me.

Hi Nick and Welcome! Glad you joined. You are in the right place and you're meetings will be so much more relaxing and enjoyable going forward! My desk is at the other end of the room from our tank, and it does make me feel calmer even if work chaos is going on that day.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you north of Seattle:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
