Thanks! Well I have a problem with my PBT... Came home from work today from work and he has a good amount of ick on him.. I think im completely screwed.. I have a 29 gallon biocube that i possibly could set up a QT tank.. But I think trying to catch him in a 120 gallon tank with well over 100 pounds of live rock will not only be impossible but will stress him out even more and cause further issues.. And I think him staying in a 29 gallon tank for a while would stress him out to. Any advice?? Please..lol im really worried. He is still eating.. Any chance he will recover with proper nutrition and heavy water change? I know it won't get the ick out of my tank. I understand that part. But I would like to try to keep it under control ya know..

Ya, I soak the food in the brightwell garlic extract everyday.. And I have 2 skunk cleaner shrimp to try to keep it under control. I guess we will see how he looks after work..

Ok, so I have been trying to sell my 29 gallon biocube since I upgraded to the 120.. When the biocube was set up it was in my room and i loved it there. Well since I have not had any offers on the biocube im starting to consider setting it back up.. lol My plan was to get it filld back up with live rock first.. Then I would really like to get a pair of Grade A picasso clowns and a really nice carpet anemone or something like that for the clowns to host.. I might move some zoas and softies from the 120 back to the biocube since I want the 120 to be mostly SPS. Not sure if I can handle 2 tanks though.. Im so paranoid about the 120 since i seem to be having a couple of issues at the moment that i can't seem to put my finger on, let alone having 2 tanks.. What do you guys think?

Also, incase anyone is lookin, Divers den has a Achilles Tang right now! I wish sooooo bad I can get one but I have a PBT and already have issues with ick on him.. Man i wish i could get this Achilles.. :cry:

a clown tank will be awesome! I'm considering this also as soon as my bro decide to upgrade. he's currently using my 28g JBJ. just take it easy in the beginning so you don't get stressed out with two tanks. good luck.

Ok everyone, here is a depressing update.. in the last 2 weeks i have lost all of my lyretail anthias, my powder blue tang and bicolor blenny.. I just don't know what to do at this point.. I feed all my fish twice a day and all food is soaked in garlic extract and Brightwell's AminOmega.. the ick just took over and took out half of my fish! My Sailfin tang is in sorry condition as well...
on another note since I was not able to sell my 29gallon biocube I decided to set it back up. For this tank im hoping to eventually get a pair of Snowcassos and an anemone. I really want to get a blue carpet anemone but i have heard mixed reviews on the size tank requirements for them.. SO if anyone has experience with them let me know. Right now there is just sand and live rock in there. But with all this happening with the big tank i think it will stay that way until i can get this tank healthy again.. So depressing..

Man sorry to hear! :( That is one thing with this hobby that almost all of us will face and have faced. Keep your chin up, sometimes these things just happen.

Thanks Marvin and revhtree. Its a bad situation.. Came home today from work and my sailfin tang was done for.. I had mentally prepared for it but still sucks.. SO here is my plan of action of which i am doing right now.. Fresh water dip the remaining fish then im putting them in my biocube i conveniently had re set back up 2 weeks ago. It shouldn't cycle again because i never took all the water out of it when i upgraded to the big tank. So it still has the same sand and filter media in it and i also put about 25 pounds of live rock in there that is pretty well established. I just got done dipping my clowns (of which i would be heart broken if i lost) and moved them to the biocube.. Now I I only have my mystery wrasse and Niger Trigger. they will be the hard ones to catch. I plan on keeping all the fish in the biocube for a month. I will be running hypo salinity in the biocube.. No meds because I heard clowns don't take well to copper medication and can cause stress issues with the other fish. Not only that but i want to eventually use the biocube for a pair of snowcassos and an anemone. As well as a couple of softies.. So no meds will be used in the biocube. Right now the salinity is at 1.020 in the biocube. I am slowly going to lower it to 1.017 Do you guys have any suggestions on what else i can do to help the situation besides hypo?? Should i higher the temp? The current temp is 79.. Lesson learned here is QT/Hospital tank!!! As much as i denied that i needed it, there is no getting around it in this hobby.. SO time to put on the big boy pants and suck it up and get a QT set up and find a place to put it in my 2 bedroom apt with 2 tanks already..lol.. Please, if you have any suggestions or advice PLEASE post it. PLLLLLEASE. lol Thanks

I used Hypo to treat my fish a while back and it is my #1 method for parasite treatment. Freshwater dips and everything else I tried always ended badly. Hypo was my last resort and worked the best. Just take it slow, and do everything you can to create as little stress as possible.

Thanks Jcr's Reef! Thanks good to know. What issues did you have with the fresh water dip? After i dipped the clowns i can't see any signs of the ich.. I know its still there but all the visible sings of them are gone. So i know they got some relief from the dip. And they seem pretty comfortable in the biocube for just getting a dip. What did you lower the salinity to when you did hypo? Also, I was told that mystery wrasse's don't do well with fresh water dips. Anyone else heard that before??

Soooo how about another crappy update to add to the list.. One of my black ice clowns that i gave a fresh water dip and moved to my smaller tank last night died... The other one is still alive. Does this misery ever end! :cry:

Ok, so im done with complaining about all my fish kicking the can.. All i have left is my Mystery Wrasse who seems very healthy. Im still going to stick him in the hypo salinity tank i set up when i can cathch him.. He is a fast one for sure.. On another note i wanted to get opinions on some LED lighting. I want to add some LED's to the tank and I was looking at the 48 inch reefbright led strip. For these i would have to do a little DIY'in and drill my Coralife Aqualight pro fixture to mount them. So my question is do you think one 48inch will be enough to cover from the front to back of the tank? I would have to mount the light on the front and back edges of the fixture. So let me know your opinions, your experiences with this light if any and if one strip should be enough. I really want to get some more pop from the corals with the day time light on (2 X 250W 14k Pheniox and 2 X 54W actnic PC's ) Thanks!
