Ok so I purchased a og jawbreaker about 2 months ago and it seems that it has a baby on the way and up until now it’s been very happy and open but more recently it seems like the baby is developing more but the mother seems ticked, is this normal

I have other shrooms including Deadpool, bounces as well as no names and they seem very happy

Put it somewhere low light and low flow. Is there anything by it that could have stung or irritated it? How does the mouth look on the mother? If the shroom is just closed up it may just be getting to much light or flow

Today looked the worst yet, I recently moved him in the tank because I cleaned my powerheads so as a result he was getting more flow that usual, so I tried moving him to another low flow area, mouth was slightly open, currently I have placed him near some other shrooms that are thriving and I have even gotten to bounce myself

Hard to tell with the picture out of the water. They look like they will be nice mushrooms. Have a pic of them in the water?

As previously stated, just keep it in lower flow and light. They are hardy.

As long as it’s not spewing it’s guts then I wouldn’t be worried. It could still be adjusting to your tank

color is not accurate at all in the pic, it’s colors look great, as you can see there is a different strain to the left and it looks fine

Is it possibly trying to move?
Very possible. I have had them do all sorts of things before. Some would let loose if unhappy and float to a new spot. One would ‘walk’ on the rock and leave babies along the way.

@Dsnakes update, so I don’t believe it is something with my water because my large Deadpool is doing great, maybe because of baby development?, what is worrying me is that his mouth is partly open

im waiting on my shroom box to come in but in my experience whenever i moved my JBs closer to the light they would shrivel up just like that. I cut a 16oz bottle in half and made holes in it and added sand and small pieces of rock into it. I saved my neptune bounce and a JB by doing this

I would keep him away from direct light for awhile until he gets used to it

That first one really doesn’t look like a jawbreaker. The second one may actually need a bit more flow, that cup looks fairly deep.

They will look all shriveled up when a larger portion of their foot breaks off to produce a baby. I didn’t think I saw any babies in your pics though.

I too would be concerned about it’s mouth. That normally spells trouble for most corals.

I’ve never tried this but I wonder what some of the other members think about this. If you have a shroom that looks like it might melt, would it be worth cutting off a piece of the foot in hopes that you at least get a baby if the mother is going to melt/die.
