Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and the hobby. I've had plenty of aquariums in my life, just never a salt water aquarium. I started this build about 2 months ago and it's definitely been a roller coaster ride so far...but the outcome has been pretty good. I'm still learning alot from this adventure and I'm open to advice and ideas as I'm still learning =). I'll post some pictures of the progress so far.

This is the current state of the tank, we just finished painting the stand from black to white last weekend

Let's look back a couple of months from when I first bought the tank and stand

My son is my number one helper and absolutely loves fish and coral

Here's some shots of when we first placed our live rock and lives stock in after the tank had cycled of course

Here's the dreaded mess underneath the cabinet, I'm still in the process of adding equipment and organizing everything, just been a little to busy to takle it head on.

I plan on using pvc for all the plumbing, and converting the sump into a refugium. I'm still confused as to how I will go about making this sump into a refugium, it seems a bit small to me although I don't have much room underneath the cabinet because of the chiller.

Welcome to R2R and to the salty side. Looks like you're off to a good start.

Started to do a little work on the sump, removed the dreaded bio balls and fixed a few issues with the skimmer, no more wet dry trickle system, it's working alot better now
