I had to go out of the country for a few months so I moved everything in the 30g to my 70g. It is easier to automate one system. I haven't touched the tank for 3 months now and only view it from a webcam.

Modded a JBJ 28G stand to fit the aquarium and will go with T5s LED supplementation. This rebuild will be better planned out.

How is this tank coming along?

I just upgraded to the 30 from the 20.

Do you like the lid?

I've transferred some corals to the tank but now my wife wants it to be mixed reef. I am in the process of adding more rock to the right and upgrading the lights to a Lumini Gemis 120R1 LED.

The lid is actually really nice but I would prefer it to be open top since it is rimless and to keep temps down. I just wish fish wouldn't jump. :(

I added more rocks and the zoas I have been collecting for the past few months. SPS frags are from the DT. I will be adding more corals once the new Lumini Gemis 120R1 LED is installed and the Geo CR510 calcium reactor gets dialed in.

The mess of electronics which will be cleaned up soon. I won the Apex at the Oklahoma Coral Farmers frag swap in May and it is a lot more versatile than my ReefKeeper Elite. I enjoy the electronics part of the hobby just as much as the livestock.

The Lumini Gemis 120R1 arrived and is now installed! I spent some time adjusting the lighting cycle and adding in storm effects. The moonlight mode is my favorite part so far.

I stayed up late to take a few shots.

Their website has technical info and I was able to email them for questions.

http://www.luminiaqua-usa.com

I will post some pictures of the light later. It is very well built and has an actual heat sink. The temperature controlled cooling fans haven't even needed to turn on.

I was playing with the lightning feature and made the video below.

I tried to take a close up of the beefy aluminum heatsink behind the fans. The body is also aluminum which should withstand rusting and dissipate heat.

Went with the thin metal mounts to keep the clean lines of the rimless tank.

Thank you!

I have been using the lid since I had a chromis, clowns, and a wrasse jump before. The powder and purple pseudochromis doesn't seem suicidal so I have left it off this week but sooner or later I will add a wrasse and will need it back on.

I am a fan of turbo snails for the back glass cleaning and slime which builds on the rocks until coralline explodes. I also have a few hermits and will probably add a single emerald for algae control.

I love Mexican turbos which do a great job on my other tank but for this tank they would get a bit large and bulldoze things around.

This green mille just about browned out under the T5s and in a week has colored back up a bit under the Lumini LEDs.
