Has anyone tried calibrating the Jebao Pump to 10ml instead of 100ml in order to trick the pump into dispensing 0.10 per 1 ml? If so any long term effects?

It might be easier to cut the fluid you're dosing. 9 parts RODI to 1 part of the liquid dose.

Mix a gallon at 118oz of RODI and 12 ounces of the supplement?

Very clever I did not think of this thank you. I believe I may be able to configure it to 0.1 ml after doing some research but that is a great idea

That seems best to me, unless one is dosing unusual products such as AFR that could then allow bacterial degradation once diluted.

My concern with the calibration method would be the pump capabilities. I know some of the Hydros pumps aren't capable of going that slow. Calibrating it down can make them less accurate and the doses more sporadic in the amount they dose.

We bought the DP-4S in bulk for our facility. It doesn't have a controller, but you can program it using any of the DP-3/4/5. A few other threads here recorded the control signal/took the thing apart and found strong evidence the dose should be approximately linear in the amount of time the motor runs for. Based on that, I don't really see any mechanical reason why there would be an issue unless theres some fundamental repeatability constraint inherent to the design of the dosing head. I would imagine the DP-4 is probably the same mechanism as the DP-4S. I believe the only difference is that one has a control panel.

However, with such small volumes and so much splash in a reef aquarium environment, I would also be much more worried about dilution at the tip of your tubing changing the actual amount of stuff being dosed, rather than anything mechanical to do with the head.

I agree that dilution of your stock is probably a better solution if it is possible.

Sorty to hijack but do you have any more info on this? Ive been using afr and dilute it to make it dissolve easier. I sometimes mix batches that seem to go bad after a while and wonder if it could be negatively affecting things
