My opinion is 2 is always better then 1. You can set them up as master slave, to increase the flow, and get more random currents then you can with a single.Would 1 slw20 be enough for a L18”xW18”H24” or would 2 be better?
Theres 2 options. The 1st gen slw which has wifi master drone ability. With that you push the wifi button on each controller. The first becomes the master. The additional ones become drones. The second slw are followed by an M designation. Like slw20m, slw30m ect. All the jebao pumps are getting the m option. Those have a wifi app. (2.4g) and you can set them up with all kinds of flow options.I see this thread has people who own these pumps... so my question is how do you set up two of the SLW to work on concert as a wavemaker? Do cords connect to each other? I am also wondering if two SLW-20's would be good in a forty breeder? (I have a 20H currently, but plan on upgrading.)
Hi there, I'm having the same issue with my SLW 10. After couple of weeks, it started to make too much noise - prrrr- prrrr-prrrrr-prrrr. Did you fix the noisy at all? Any advice? It got a bit more silent after I properly dismantled it and put it back together. But compared to my old Tunze it is still a bit louder.
In the meantime i moved from my nano aquarium to a 100+ gallon tank. I'm still using the SLW10 (to remove a dead spot in a corner) and after tearing it apart and rebuilding it a few times it is now absolutely silent.Hi there, I'm having the same issue with my SLW 10. I will put hands on today, hope it can help my situation. I wanted to do what other are doing but the ceramic ring inside is glued so it cannot be removed. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2552560In the meantime i moved from my nano aquarium to a 100+ gallon tank. I thought people looking at the SLW might be interested to see this. The SLW-5 (the smallest of the SLW family) I got for my 9g compared to the Nero 3 I'm running in my 30L.
The Nero 3 is on the bottom in both pictures.
Theres a new version with both led display and wifi. Wire isnt super thin or thick i can take pics at lunch timeThanks, that is really helpful. Is there a significant difference in the width of the wire? Seen people saying the wire on the AI Neros is really thin?
How do you find the flow rates compare, am looking at these two and also the MP10 for my Red Sea Max Nano.
Here is a link to the newest version with flow ratesThanks, that is really helpful. Is there a significant difference in the width of the wire? Seen people saying the wire on the AI Neros is really thin?

The Nero wire is a lot smaller/thinner. The flow rate for the Nero 3 is 2000gph, the SLW-5 is 790gph. I really liked the SLW-5, but it's lack of control was a deal breaker. Thanks, that is really helpful. Is there a significant difference in the width of the wire?
