Good morning R2R,

waking up to flashing lights on the hydros is fun

Looks like my DEP-20000 lasted 4 months before failing. I am assuming there’s no way to get parts after a quick google search. Looks like the clips on the clear part failed.

Those don't usually 'fail' unless you install it wrong and force it. They are meant to gently slid into place as you turn the prop cover.

I haven't cleaned the pump yet so either a defective part or installed wrong at the factory. Both on the left side failed so the sump got a good stirrup lol.

Another reason I always have 2 return pumps

If you can’t find the part, I’d replace the pump with a Simplicity Pump. They are close to the same price, and they have an in the USA phone number, they actually answer.

just looked would need a bigger model. The head pressure from the UV body being so wide and the way I plumbed the return needs a big pump. I originally had a 3200gph on there thinking I had no problem getting 350gph... hooked up my flow meter I got from santa to the hydros and I was getting 12gph to the UV .At least that water was super clean.

How big is your Aquarium? I have 120 gallon and run two Simplicity 1600, for returns. One feeds the Return nozzles through the overflow, and also feeds an Algae Scrubber. The other pump goes to two return nozzles through Bulkheads in the back of the Aquarium, and also feeds the UV. Neither Pump is run to full speed. Also I have a separate Simplicity 1000 on my Skimmer. I used PVC BSPT x Socket fittings on the Pumps to make a Manifold. British Standard Pipe Thread fitting is from McMaster-Carr.

200 gallon IM EXT, I have two return lines supplied by 1 pump and the UV has its own pump to control flow.

My flaw was T'ing the return of the UV return into the "main" return lines. I should have drilled another return and had the UV on a complete closed loop. I didn't think about the pressure the other pump would "push" against the UV return pump. I tested it by turning the other pump off and the GPH goes way up. Live and learn!
