Beautiful snake! The brown and patterns look so cool!

Can I see pictures of your tank, too? :)
Thank you! Emerald tree boa.

Sure! Life got in the way so I haven’t been able to jam pack it with corals yet, but plan to put a lot more in over the winter. Not the best time to take a picture, algae on the glass and the waters a little cloudy from the water change ha. My ozone also just broke..

Here’s it when it’s clean (no corals inside when I took these)

it’s been a while since I posted, made some changes, and got some really high nitrates and phosphates.

Got an algae turf scrubber which is making a difference but after a while.. no more messing around! I’m converting my sump into a huge Refugium and am going to put all my mechanical filtration in a second sump that I’m making with a stock tank. This new sump will be first, followed by the refugium.

Lots of work ahead of me, but here she is so far

I think i have enough sand and rock haha. I already have 80 pounds of sand in the current refugium and about 120 pounds of live rock. I’m hoping to get a DSB of at least 8 inches after this, followed by the live rock. Not really looking forward to rinsing this, may have to sacrifice doing a mediocre job

I’m exhausted.. not as much growing room for algae as I hoped but that’s alright, that’s what the ATS is for. There’s still plenty of room for it though

So far so good. Nitrates down from 75 to 50, now at 25. Red ogo is growing well and turf algae is growing on the rocks so between that and the ATS, it’s making its way.

I’m noticing much more coralline algae growing which is nice, however I’m also experiencing a GHA boom.. probably because it’s a better environment for it to grow. I’m waiting for 4 tuxedo urchins to come in and trying to manually remove from time to time

Glad to see the algae is gone!
Thank you! It took a while to get here but.. I finally made it. To be fair, I haven’t put in a serious effort until recently..

Now it’s just a matter of jam packing corals and having the tank survive another 40-50 years ha
