Yes, they were purchased as HWAll of those are supposed to be Homewreckers?
Telling Charlie to buy MH is like telling a vegan to enjoy that rare rib eye.Yes, I have SE Radiums on the 16" LumenMax reflectors and m80 ballasts on a different tank. This tank and both of my frag tanks have the DE 14k Phoenix. If you are thinking about buying a Halide for your tank, either would be good choices... just get the correct ballasts.
I've never seen a Homewrecker look like the ones on the left. They look nice but seems doubtful that they are, specially if they've been in the system long enough. The one on the right definitely looks right though. They were a frag each from 2 different sellers. Picked up locally and I trust both of them. But they are clearly different colors
I know right. It has got to be the water. This is the one on the rightI've never seen a Homewrecker look like the ones on the left. They look nice but seems doubtful that they are, specially if they've been in the system long enough. The one on the right definitely looks right though.
You should get one! Not sure where you are located but out here they can be had for $100 or less. These are some very nice looking corals! It’s definitely on my list of dream corals.
There’s only one homewrecker. They may have changed what they look like in people’s tanks, as each tank is different.I am amazed at how many different variants of Homewreker there are. They can’t all come from the original from Jason fox one they are just so different in every way
Interesting thread!
I like to see the degree to which everyone can pull out the pinks. There seems to be a lot of variability in this regard. Also, it seems that I hear a lot of people losing their pieces for some reason.
I have had some ups and downs too. When I first got my frag, it grew and colored up well. Like a dummy, I fragged it early. After that, it stopped growing and lost its pinks. But I also switched salts during this time. It was about the size of a thumb after fragging. Several months later and back on the original salt, I decided to chop it in half to see how it would do under T5s. Here is what they look like as of yesterday. I will add progression pics every monthish.
This is probably my slowest growing tenuis.
I will probably move the T5 piece down. I think it’s getting blasted with too much light is the reason it looks washed out.
All are daylight shots..

T5s (bottom half of cut frag)
And a quick vid:
I have bought a lot of frags from you all of them have been good and look great still I got one of your homewrecker frags it is the only one that did not make it. It also looked very different from the 2 I have now. It never grew or colored. Not saying it’s your fault all of your corals have been reasonably priced and good frags. The homewrecker just didn’t come around after receiving.
Mines gots pink, purple and orangeTonight. I have it in about 225-250 par, 36” from my lights. I’m maintaining the pinks and seeing new pinks. Tenuis, for some reason, seem to do best at the lowest spots in MY tank.
Adding more 6500k T5 this weekend.
mine is pulling similar colors but is a tad bit lighter. Wonder if its the high par or that my nutrients are a little lower than yours? ( .08 po4 and 20 no3 ) People seem to love pulling the pinks out but Im all about that orange.Mines gots pink, purple and orange
