Okay so finally got my new tank in. I'm very excited to get this project rolling again.

Well my better half decided she knows me better than I know myself. So came up with a great idea of building a bar and fish tank combination. So scraping my newly built stand. Lol

Here is the lay out.

Planning on putting the tank on the back wall..

Picked up some 3d wall paneling locally as my house deco is contemporary so keeping the theme built into the bar

Started by drawing out line to see where everything will layout.

Then I used glue behind the panels and held them in place with thumb tacks which will be removed once glue drys

Then I went ahead and did the same for the bar.

I have a lot more work ahead but I'm enjoying this little project. It should be a nice area to relax have a absolute and tonic and watch the tank

So picked up the counter tops today from ikea. I think I'm going with placing tank right on top if instead wrapping counter around tank.

Nice build! I keep thinking about using the 3d paneling n an accent wall. Just think it would be a pain in the butt to sand all the joints seamlessly. Did you find yours locally or ordered?

Thank you. I picked up locally. Lowes sells them online. I used caulking. I would caulk it prime it and caulk and paint. As primer makes the panels shrink a little and open the gaps. Also I have seen them with compound in the joint and you can still see the seem. For the price I wouldn't complain. If you really want nice and no seams they sell large panels made of mdf I think 4x4 cost around $250+each. As where I did all mine for around $250 for everything. So really a choice of what you willing to spend vs what you get.

So I decided to stick with the 75. It's a nice tank and clean looking.
Well I got my counter tops done today. I some small trim I need to install on it but for the most part it's done. I went with ikea as they cost me about $300. As Lowes and home Depot was 3 times as much.

So I got a lot of stuff done. I still have a lot of detail work but for the most part things are really coming together. Water test shows tank is fully cycled. So now to bring some of my fish that friends are holding for me back home. I'm planning on QT all fish for 5 days treated with pazipro and chloroquine phosphate. This way I'm keeping the risk of disease to a minimum.

Well ended up replumbing my tank. As durso tube is still loud. So I went back to the herbie style drains. I also replaced my iwaki pump with a waveline dc12000. It's definitely much quieter than the Iwaki-Pump. I can still hear it at 100% power. Does anyone have experience with ecotech dc pump ?

It's a little bigger than I thought but it should kick butt.

Well went a little crazy with par readings and burning corals. So ended up selling my giesemann light and going with a 8 bulb ATI. Im going to post updates par readings tomorrow so I hope I'm not getting 375 par on the bottom.

Well I got some work done on the bar. Counter top completed. Some color changing led under it and installed Formica. Next would be the doors.

Okay so went a little crazy with par reading tonight or this morning however you see it (working night shift kills my sleep schedule)

Now my par is very consistent but still pretty high for zoas. Well I'm going to try out 4 hours a day light schedule and see how it goes.
