I wish I knew about R2R before I started my build.
I been messing with salt water for about 10 years this is my first time ever growing SPS. Still learning and thanks everyone for helping and sharing there knowledge.

A trick to get the surface super smooth is a damp rag wipe with the grain it raises the grain a little then let it dry, sand it smooth, do a few times and the wood will be smooth as glass before you even finish it.

Most of the time I put one coat of clear. Then sand when dries but I'm going to do it like you said. Thanks for the advice sounds great.
No problem, trick I learned from a teacher in school when he was making a full wall entertainment center for his loving room. It made the finished product look amazing. Cant wait to see how yours turns out.
