This topic has come up in the past but I think it's a good reminder and now there is some science to back it up. Please also know this post is not directed at anyone it is simply something I have noticed myself and it's a good reminder to newbies as well.

The article only mentions sps but I have personally found it applies to chalices and zoas as well. Sure the price is going to be lower but in the end it is better to spend a bit more for a bigger frag because the survivability is so much better.
Personally I never buy or shipan sps that is less than 1 inch or a chalice piece that is less than 1 inch in size if shipped because there is already a great deal of stress on the coral when you ship.
