Getting things moving . . . Lighting is hung. Not sure if I will like it until I get the tank in place as it is 9 inches from the glass and will be about 10 inches from the water. I was hoping it would be a couple inches higher, but it may work. Plumbing is in place, however I am planning on plumbing the UV sterilizer next. . . .

Ok, so I secured a white board I had to the back of the stand and moved the mounting brackets on my lifeguard UV to allow it to be mounted by its side. This will allow it to be mounted to the board and stay in line with the plumbing. I measured and cut the pvc to fit the UV. Wish me luck as tomorrow I will plumb in the bushings and UV. I’ll share pics tomorrow :)

Here are the bushings I’m using for the 55w lifegard Pro-max UV sterilizer. I have never plumbed anything lol

I've been asking around, is the plumbing that came with the system standard sch 80 pvc? I'm planning on getting the same setup and want to also plumbing my uv inline on one of the returns with its own pump. Thanks

Yes, it appears to be standard sch 80. I might eventually separate one of the return line to plumb in for a second pump. It would be nice for redundancy, maintenance and the option for more flow, but for now I will just keep a back up pump on hand and see how this works as it was pretty easy to plumb into the existing line.

So I have finally filled the tank and it passed the leak test! I am now working on my aqua scape. I have a good idea of how I want it to look. I will post when its all done. BTW, The Lifegard UV is awesome for the money. I am going to post a video when I get home. I love how the ballast counts down the days until you need a new bulb! Such a quality unit.

Super glue and insta set work like a charm. I’m also using putty around certain joints. Seems to be working well. I can’t wait to show you all the finished product, but I have limited time so I get a little done here and there :)

I decided on Option 2 and see how the coverage is. My plan is to have some softies and Euphilia on the outer side where there may be less par. It will be interesting to see what kind of par readings I get. . . .
I am getting 350-400 par on the bottom within 48×20 with the 2 50's. The par falls off to 150-200ish on the ends and along the back due to the black not reflecting.
I am running white 70% red 60% and the rest at 100%.
I will dial it back some to get 300-350 in the 48x20 area on the bottom. I will be looking for 400-450 mid tank.
My 150lbs of GLF arrives Tuesday.
Tank will be 90% acros.

Yes it will. Post the par when you get it done. Im curious as to what 2 will do. I will do the same when I get it going in a month or 2.
Here are my 2 that I hung.

do you have video of your wave motion? I'd like to see how that works/looks in motion. I know you mentioned that to me before but I need my lid without crawl out spots. But future I'd consider it.

looking forward to seeing the accomplished scape. It's looking great especially the shelfs and spacing.

I will make one tomorrow as im out of town today.
They both are running on the lowest setting. You can see the movement in the pic. If I turn them up to 100% water would go over the side if it was not euro braced. The 6255's are very strong pumps. The idea is to only run the 2 which should be enough flow. I can then crank up the flow as it grows in.

Not the best vids but it does give you an idea of how much power the 6255's have. They should be all I need. I will get 2 similar vids once the rocks are in. I will post them on my build thread.
First vid is on lowest setting.
Second is on 100%.
Both 6255's are pointed slightly towards the bottom. If I adjust them at 90° or higher the water hits the bottom of the euro brace.

that's my problem too. I don't have YouTube account either when I post videos. So I can't view them on Mac. I think I can view them on chrome though.
