Have you water tested the tank yet?
Yes. Plugged the drains and tested the inside of the overflow as well. Did all that when i cleaned it out. Love how you are checking up on my potential goof ups and self made murphies.
I didnt know you cared :p
.... lol
Rich,
Your scape looks great... ;Wideyed
What are the dimensions of your new cube?
Welcome Freddie! And thanks. The rock work i found from a guy who has been diving his whole life made it easy. Just had to get the right juxtapositions. Im happy with the scape too.
24 x 24 x 20. SCA 50g on the dims.
Starfire glass.
Prettyyyyy!
That depends. Do you get good PAR from them old fashioned lights?
I will borrow
@thejuice24 's par meter once it is time to design and build the canopy. It will likely be the last step. Deciding light height should be simple, as these came off my 125g 6ft with a 20" depth. Lights were set to 11.5" on that set up... heres the par map and pur% i whipped up as we did it...
I could only afford two hydras at the time i set it up. So i planned the scape to end up with each end packed, and i had NPS dendros, gorgs, etc in center alone under 2 fluval marine programmable 48" strips.
Heres the last full FTS of the 125 after 2 years before i torn it down 2 months ago. I ran AB+ modified with boosted reds and greens to assist my sps with lower par and more color.
That was my reboot of my 1st reef. A 55g that i had a rookie outbreak in. The 125 ran fallow and then i drained it, filled my living room with 4 rubbermaids to house it all. Spent the next 4 days drilled and plumbing the sump. Was a great learning experience.
Hopefully this cube will result even better now that im a bit more seasoned in the hobby. Time shall tell.
