I'm pretty new, and I'm having problems with my pH, so I figured I could kill two birds with one stone. I currently dose alkalinity and calcium with my Apex DOS. I have a 32-gallon BioCube, and I would like to use a Kalkwasser stirrer in the stand and have the Apex DOS pump the solution up into the back of the display. I also have fresh RO water hooked into it to pull new RO into the stirrer how could i make this work

Folks generally pump water through the stirrer. I don’t know what technical issues you may face with trying to balance the input to the stirrer. That sounds tricky and prone to issues.

If you have an ATO, try mixing Kalk into your RO water in the ATO and let the evaporation dictate how much Kalk is dosed. If you have a skimmer, you could also look at a CO2 Scrubber attached to your air intake. That way you're only affecting pH and don't need to adjust your Calcium or Alkalinity dosing.

Traditionally, rodi water is pumped through a kalk reactor.

RODI reservoir > peristaltic pump (DOS in your case) > kalk reactor > tank.

How you control the amount of kalk dosed will be determined by how you program your DOS. There are many ways to skin that cat. Some people choose to dose at night to help with the low pH, some people dose throughout the day (either continuously or metered dosing), while being mindful of not dosing more than the daily evaporation.

Just like setting up your 2 part, you'll have to test alkalinity often to determine what your daily dose should be. There are calculators to get you in the ballpark.

I dont think it will dose correctly using the DOS. You need a peristaltic doser for continuous dosing.

DOS is the Neptune Apex dosing module. It's as accurate as anything out there, maybe more so, as long as ya Calibrate it when ya unbox it, which takes 1 minute. I have one set up that add 25ml a day Lanthanum Chloride every 10minutes in 1.2ml increments, and another that does a 4 gallon a day Auto Water change, yet another that adds 1.5 gallons kalkwasser to my tank between 8pm and 6am every night.
