Hi everyone.

So I got my hanna test kit today to move from my regular dosing to just using kalkwasser with an ATO. My calcium is at 483 and alkalinity is at 7.2 which is alright for me alkalinity could be raised a bit but 7.2 is really fine for me. Should I allow my tank to go for a week without dosing to see the usage of alk/calc in my tank? Or should I allow the ATO to top off with kalkwasser to max line to see if I need to add more or use less kalkwasser. Both make sense in my head but just trying to see if someone with experience knows the best way to go at this.

Thanks as always to everyone who replies

I would add the kalk in the ato now and just test daily. Maybe start with a small batch of 5gallons with 1 tsp per gallon. If the alk stays consistent continue with the 1tsp per gallon. If it rises or lowers adjust as needed
