I have decided to set up a kalkwasser reactor .My plan is to use my Apex to control mix times in the reactor, and a dosing pump controlled by Apex to stop dosing when the PH is higher than my set point. The apex will only allow dosing when the mixing is done and the reactor has settled down.
My question is. every article I have read talks about using the RODI top off water to feed the reactor . But I would like to source my water from my sump. This would allow my auto top off to continue to its job as is. Can I use saltwater from my sump??

@Reef Dummy, you have to use fresh water for kalk, though I forget why. It's actually super easy to implement. I'm currently dosing 125 ml/hour from 2100 to 1200. I chose to use kalk to assist with my tank's pH.

Use fresh RODI water, not saltwater. You don't need a reactor as Randy F has said in past, just a bin with loose lid, a crust will form at top, that is ok. Start at 1 tsp/gal, max at 2.
