Scored a great deal on a used 93 gallon Cube setup. going to take my time on this build, but here is what i'm starting from:

45493695_10218748911213307_4864216063774031872_n.jpg

Marineland 93 gal cube aquarium with stand
Hydor Koralia circulation pump 2450gph
Hydor Koralia circulation pump 1950gph
Aqua mag water pump model 7
Asm g2 protein skimmer with upgraded pump
2 150watt Eheim Heaters

Things to figure out:
I need to figure out light, my old setup is a 20in cube using 2xhalf mega pro pucs from blueacro. thinking maybe adding 2 more pucs, and then 4 24in t5hos to do a hybrid, or getting totally new leds and making a bigger light and not go hybrid.

Sump plan is to put the sump in my fishroom on the other side of the wall. I have a 42inx15x15in accrlyc sump I picked up for cheap from a buddy that I plan on using. going to incorperate seperate refugeum (in a 20Tall most likely) and a small frag tank in a 20L or 15 gallon tank in the same system.

well its what marinland calls the size ;)

so what would you guys suggest for a starting point for lighting this thing? I"m diying convinced on that.

Also, I would suggest either figuring out how to raise the stand or replace it entirely.

Just about everyone regrets that stand. :D

Check out my thread for a build of one.

Why is this? I'd it just space under the tank? Mine is going to have light electronics and everything else is in fish room.

Making progress.

Light is done and temporary mount setup
Tank plumbed to fishroom and passed leak teat, added salt yesterday. Ups just let me know that my rock arrived so going to start cycling

Thanks s different then. Of you were putting the equipment under it would be where I would raise it up.

will be adding more sand just tossed in a bit from a reefjar experiment I shut down to add some live stuff to the tank.

Trying to decide if the 2 Korrelas I got with the tank is enough flow or if I should spring for something like a Gyre. anyone else with Big Cubes want to weigh in on thoughts?

I like the build so far and can’t wait to see where this goes. I would look into a gyre depending on what you are looking to keep in this tank. If spa then definitely if just lps I would say you are ok.

I know the rule of thumb is 10x the gallons but to me I find that around 5x the gallons works just fine for a lps tank

clowns settling into there new tank, workiong on setting up ATO and heater controller today. wanted to get skimmer tuned in but amazon sent the wrong size gate valve, so waiting on that. once I get the skimmer tuned in game plan is to build a 60x20in work bench to put over the sump for a couple 20 long tanks, one will be a "display" fuge the other will be a small frag tank.
