These are designed to operate independent of a controller, or in conjunction with specific "DIY" controllers. Kasa has a nifty app which works on this strip.

Thanks Maddy. Was curious and looking into doing ReefPi along with the RoboTank hardware already so will dig into this a bit more. Are you using ReefPI? If so what is your experience and how do you have it controlling your Kasa Strip?

Reef-Pi is a fantastic project, I support it 100%.

However, I've decided to go my own route with a different platform (Node-Red) which also supports Kasa devices. I like the 6-plug strip as it offers current monitoring on each channel.
