At the base of my Kenya tree it is red and was wondering is this bad?

Prob not looks like some type of algae. Has it always been there?
 
Just noticed it a few days ago but I thought it looked a lot like some of the coralline algae I got growing on sum of my rocks.
 
Looks like an algae/cyanobacteria to me. Either way it shouldn't really hurt the Kenya tree.
