I have a Kessil 150 that's been sitting around for a while and in stead of selling it placed it in the sump. What are your thoughts on using this light for growing macroalgaes? I have some cheato and looking at getting dragons breath, maybe some grape culurpa and anything that will grow good under this light. Has anyone tried one of these before? If so what did you find out when growing algae?

I have no experience with it but see no reason why it would not work.

Anyone so far day 2 in just don't want to get a month in wondering why nothing's growing.

Algae needs more red spectrum light than a Kessil. Kessil does make a grow light for plants that would work. But a simple grow light from Home Depot would work.

I've been running the Reef Radiance DM-7e and I'm harvesting 2x softball sizes monthly.
