Yes they do effect corals. They will impact pigment production, contrary to popular belief, violet, red, and green are indeed photosynthetically active spectra and are used if available.

Agree, use the violet channel as much as you can, just adjust slowly to match your peak intensity. I like red and green between 5-15%, but wouldn't go above 20%, but that's just me.
