Wondering if anyone else is just running the A500x on a mixed reef, and what are your color settings and intensity. Thanks!

As mentioned above, BRS does have a vid on this you should watch. I just recently replaced my AP700s with three of the A500x units. The uv and violet channels make a ginormous difference. These are phenomenal lamps. I ramp mine up to 100% intensity, 30% color, 70% violet, 10% red, and 2% green. Most people do not run the green channel at all, but this is my personal preference on my system for peak lighting. At night, purely for my enjoyment and not the animals, I run 20% intensity, 0% color, 80% violet, 2% red, and 0% green. This does make some fish look a bit off, especially the yellow tang, but I have some corals that look horrible in daylight but phenomenal with these settings. It’s a trade off.

Thanks sooo much for your reply!! I was starting to think I was the only one doing this. There is actually a kessil Facebook group but I didn’t really get a whole lot of info there. I love the simplicity of just the two lights over the tank. I just ordered a couple cone light shades from Printed Reef. Hopefully I can remove the

The beauty of Kessil's is "Kessil logic", so you can't have a bad spectrum. The light will not allow you to mess things up, sort of.
For color, my preference is between 20% to 50%, but this depends if you're using supplemental lights or not? I would slowly ramp up violets to match your peak intensity and add in 5-10% red and green for a little extra pop in fish and corals. (Red and green are purely aesthetic and not meant to provide spectrum in those wavelengths). When combined with "blue" bars or T5's, then I tend to have the color a little more in the "whiter" spectrum, as this provides a more "natural" look to me.

I’m totally checking printed reef after this comment! The ONLY thing I don’t like about these lamps is the spill I get. The spread is super wide without reflectors, and with the reflectors the coverage isn’t as smooth. Something to take the edge off would be great!

they can't tell me if the cones will work with the A500 but it seems like it will and they offered a full refund if it doesn't.

They should be fine, the reflectors from Kessil work on both the 360 and 500 so I’m thinking these should work as well. Thanks for letting me know about them!
