I was thinking about changing my biocube lights and I bought a Kessil A80. I really want to keep the lid though. Will putting Kessil A80 ontop of my lid cause any complications? I will be removing the stock lights and cutting a hole just big enough for the lights so that every part of the tank gets some lighting. It is a 29 gallon biocube. Thankyou

I don’t see why it would be a problem unless it gets too hot - that’s something you’ll have to experiment with and find out! But I do recommend replacing the stock bio cube lights - they really are underpowered IMO. Fluval makes a nano light that I like that I know for a fact doesn’t generate a lot of heat.

I just made the hole on my lid and everything looks fine. Is it going to overhead like this or should I put it on a small piece of wood so it is a bit off the hood.

I did something similar on mine. I still need to caulk around the top though. Seems to be working alright. Our anemone seems much happier and healthier since we put ours in. You did great! Looks good!

Thank you! I do plan on buying a new light and maybe putting some stuff around it so its a bit above the lid.

I placed mine on the plastic lid of my refugium. However, I took 4 plastic 1.5 inch screws and put them through the heat shield openings and made them operate as legs for the fixture. Works great.

I recommend using velcro instead of caulk.
