Kessil AP700 4FT Tank

I'm interested in this light per Kessil it should cover a 48x24x24 area but I have yet to see any photos or video of this. Anybody out there that has, or has seen a four footer running on one unit can you please post a pic or video link.

Still new lights so might be awhile before you see anything with photos above that size tank.

I bought one for my new 4x2x2 build but haven't set anything up yet and I'm doubtful it will be enough light by itself. I will probably buy a second one before it is all said and done.

Probably end up going with 2 A360 I'd the spread is not enough from the 700

ordered 2 units for my 4x2x2,

in my experience, 1 a360we good for 30cmx30cm(include eliminate shadowing suggestion), not 60cm. i don't trust official claiming

Which mount are you going to use

Isn't ap700 = 2x a360 on one fixture + wifi?

It will cover 48" x 24 x 16" just fine i dont see why not 24" for sps id go for two

I bought four at release and initially ran just two over one end of a 8'x3'x26" inch tank. Keeping my old LEDs over the other half. Last weekend I finally switched completely over.

Can't say anything bad out these lights. everything loves them - the definition and color is spectacular.

Sorry - my garage is a wreck - but I snaped this with my cell - it shows how simple my light setp is. Its very flexible as the kessis are just set in and I can move them where I want.

Its angle aluminum stock from lowes...cut to size with one stainless machine screw and nut in each corner.The kessils as so low profile you don't even see them from the side and unless I sit down I can't see the light source...the power runs beside and out the end.

I finally loaded up the control software on a new iPad....The lights are pretty stellar without the control software...they're absolutely incredible with it.

The software install was super simple - getting the lights to connect over the wireless took me a bit longer than it should have, but in retrospect, if I had just followed the built in wizzard - it too would have been easy. I got myself confused because each light can be added to a group number and the group controlled as if it were one fixture. You can't split a single fixture and put each led array in a different group however - that would have been cool - but now I'm just being picky.

You have a smooth transition of color across the spectrum - very fluid feel - no sudden jumps - and the intensity stays nice and uniform as you spin through the color wheel. Sliders would have given even more control, but what is there now is more than adequate. Basically the rainbow electrified - with all the kessil clarity and shimmer.

The demo effects are cool - at least they impressed the family. In program mode there are three packaged templates - standard, acclimation and lunar cycle - with the ability to create and save your own. I havn't played with this aspect at all - I'm still amazed at the abilty to make the colors on my fish literally glow. My tank looks so good it almost looks photoshoped...but it's live in living color.

I've run leds for years - always longing for the power and brightness of my 20k halides...

Kessil has finally put the halides to rest...blowing them out in all regards...there's no going back.

Alright - just played a bit with the program mode. Its all very intuitive. The tree templates can be cloned to start a custom program. You have dots to set the color and intesity of the lights at any given time - which you can drag around to program. It defaults to six or so dots but you can add more if you want. In addition you can throw in special affects anlong the way. It has a one button preview feature that allows you to playback a 24 hour cycle in about 30 seconds fo that you can get things just the way you want.

Here though the color wheel limits you quite a bit IMHO as the program does its intrepolation based on the circular color wheel....not necessarily what you want. Having indepenent color channels to set at each poiint would complicate programming a bit and for most cases it wouldn't be necessary - but it would give greater control and eliminate some unwanted transistions.

Maybe you can do it but I didn't figure it out yet - a question for kessil.

I might just do that for my Radions. Thanks for the idea!
