So I'll be the first person to post something 3D printed in this forum! This is a really cool idea, where the forum gets 5% of the sale.

Earlier this month, I was cleaning my skimmer and annoyed at the amount of coralline. So I made a light director for Kessil H380 refugium lights. It presses on and significantly reduces the amount of light spill.

It's nothing too fancy; printed in PETG to be more temperature resistant. It takes about 9 hours to print at this layer height- I am looking for $29.99 shipped, which includes 2-day USPS priority shipping ($8). I think $2 per hour for printing is a good general rate, covering materials, wear on the printer, and then some left for profit.

I am also happy to customize the height, if you need.

@SneakyTortuga got one a little bit ago, check out his photos.

From his thread:

This photo is from my first prototype, before I improved the design to be sleeker and more effective. You can see it does NOT block any ventilation holes.

The current model has NO LOGO

I need this in my life..guess I will be the first person to buy something in the 3d Printed & Handmade Sub forum :)

payment sent..cheers

Thanks sir! I just messaged Revhtree to make sure that the 5% went through properly. I’ll be sending these out on Monday, with USPS priority 2 day

If you aren’t sure if this height is exactly wht you need, you can make a mock-up using paper or tape. Find the perfect amount of spread, and then let me know the distance from the kessil. :)

I am using the same gooseneck as you so even if it is not spot on I can adjust the Kessil mount ..thanks again for making these...my base cabinet is 100% white acrylic and the light makes my stand glow like an alien invasion hoping this will help with that and the coralline issue

stand and tank in my signature if your curious

Canopy for the IM40?, or something similar to cover the 360's? Putting together a build and looking for ideas to help the light stay within the tank area.

Kessil 360 and H380 have same exterior dimensions, this should fit both.

Canopies for IM40 is definitely beyond my capabilities lol

i have to say i couldnt be happier with this product!! simple but yet gets the job done. it completely stopped the light spill into my skimmer section of my sump.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you get one if light spillage is an issue in your sump!

I terested in one for 160, can you make it 1.5" shorter? Light is smaller and less powerful than 380 so closer

Sure, I can do that for sure. Do you want to give actual measurements of how tall you need it? You can mock it up with paper or tape, to test what height you need.

I would take one for an h150 (which I think is the same size as the h160). I would need it to be shorter by 2 inches I think

Chop it down to 4" and size for 160, send me paypal info

Hey- yeah, I can do all of those options.

The transaction needs to go through here on R2R, so can just pay using the "Buy now" button and then message me any customization you want :)
