How far can you safely extend the cable from the power brick to the light on a Kessil A360WE?

I need about 8 feet. Was thinking 16 gauge would be plenty big enough to not drop voltage too much.

Anyone done this?

They make an extension you can buy... I use them on my tank. I'll see if I can link you.

If you can't find the cable Fishy suggested you might also want to send in a quick email/support ticket with Kessil and see what they recommend. If there isn't an extension cable for power that would be my suggestion. To be safe or have that piece of mind.

I'm pretty sure the extention cable already makes the cord over 8 feet long so I think you will be good if you can find one.

Now that I know they make them and it's safe, I will order some plugs and make them up myself I think.

Wouldn't be the first set I have made for something.

Yeah it wouldnt be hard, the resistance increase over 8 feet for 19v at a few amps is dang near negligible. Use the same gauge wires and youll be just fine.

Here is what I got back from Kessil:

"Hello Steven -

Our standard K-link cable is 10' ft in length, you can add an extra 10' ft of length to our cables with the K-link extension cable that we offer.
You can daisy chain up to 32 lights with our K-link cables.

So if you had a light positioned on the far end of the 12' ft aquarium - the 5' ft aquarium would have to be close enough for the 10ft K-link cable to reach over and attach to the light.
If it is not close enough then this scenario may call for the extension cable.

This holds true for power extension cables as well.

Hopefully this information helps! Let me know if you have any other questions

Best Regards,
Arturo"

I made them and I promptly gave them to a buddy to use and he is very happy. I will have to make more when my fish room is done.

I actually talked to a rep at Kessil and they said you could go another 20 feet with no issues. I made up a couple that were 12 feet and they worked perfectly.

I promptly gave them to a buddy to use and he is very happy. I will have to make more when my fish room is done.
Great to know, thank you
