Yeah I'm hoping everything gets adjusted ok. Mainly just my zoas and xenia are showing the most "stress" I guess you could call it. I have noticed most of the blue star polyps on the zoa rock from josh's tank have disappeared. I'm hoping they stay gone. There is still some I need to scrape off

Ok so I have neglected my tank a little the past couple of weeks ( no water changes). I have noticed green bubble algae on some corals I bought from another club member, I'm not going to name names but pretty much everything I bought from him has had it on it and nothing else in my tank does might be a coincidence I don't know. I need to research how to get rid of it and what to do to prevent it. Currently I have removed the corals and scraped it off and rinsed the corals in fresh saltwater before putting back in the tank.

I ran my parameters after I done a water change for the first time in a few weeks.

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
NITRATE 0!
Ph 8.0
Temp 78.1
Salt 1.025
Kh 9
Calcium 380
Phosphates 0
Magnesium 1440

And I ran a iodine test. Not sure if I done it right. Because it says to wait till the standard test is a certain color... Well as soon as I add the drops its that color so I'm coming up with
Iodine 0.06

I still can't believe my nitrates are at 0.

I'm losing a half gallon a day due to evaporation and I'm also losing salt. I noticed a lot of creep and my salinity was a little low.

How do you guys keep your salinity stable?

Mind you this was from about 2-3 weeks without a water change

Tank and params look good. When I perform a WC i run the makeup water at 0.001 higher than what I want the tank at. This helps maintain the salinity.

Bubble algae is tough man i suggest fragging the corals if possible and tossing the parts with bubble algae before it spreads. Ive had to do this before because nothing else including the scrapping and cleaning of frag got rid of it. It always seemed to grow back

You need to find a way to diffuse the splashing or bubbles to eliminate the salt creep. A filter sock or some inventive plumbing

I'm on way home from the critter with a firefish and a royal gramma

Yeah I need a filter sock. The filter floss and rubber band works though. I would use a filter sock but I was told to clean it in washing machine with bleach and I will not use bleach on anything ever again.

I lost several corals due to regenerating purigen and not getting all the bleach out.

How far below the water is your drain pipe going into the sump? If its more then a half inch to inch then its causing lots of bubbles to come out and this causes lots of salt creep. Tube should barely go into water in sump

Ok the new firefish is doing good. Not really darting around like the first one I had but I guess he just has to get used to the new surroundings.

The royal gramma came out today after I fed them all some frozen food. He started to explore the corner he's been hiding in a little until my six line chased him :-(

Did he eventually leave the new additions alone? He doesn't bother the firefish
