Did you start all of the sps from frags? you've got some really nice colonies and i'm trying to judge my growth based off yours.

Thank You very much, the stylophora (birdsnest) was a one inch frag. The purple acro, I got as a colony, about 3 inches round (Sorry I forgot that one yesterday) . The tri-color ORA way on top was the one that was about 2 1/2 inches. I started using Aquaforest about 2 1/2 years ago before (Hurricane Irma passed by and then restart February) I added to the thread what I does currently. Some of my sticks are kinda stuck not growing but coloring, others have taken off , and I even had to frag or broken cleaning inside, and then fragged them! I got a BattleBox from Adam about 4 months after cycling, (8 corals from him) kicking butt since then. What do you dose? I have been contemplating the thought of getting a calcium reactor (but they are expensive) and I buy the dry AF components 123 and mix myself!!!

I'm following this. :D
Thank You, I am going to check out your build thread!!! I really have learned a lot reading from everyone on R2R, a lot of great information and smart people on here. I was always intimidated with all the beautiful tanks on here but it was about time that I shared my experience’s as well. It hasn’t been a walk in the park, but by listening to the pro’s and don’t do any knee jerk reactions I think that everyone on R2R could be successful and learn from each other’s mistakes and successes !!! Thank You again :):):)

Nice! That makes sense. Some of my growth is on par with yours :) i feel better lol. I started my tank in April, and started adding SPS around June. I just started dosing ESV 2-part this week. My levels have always been really stable - 7.9 Alk, 400 Cal, and 1350 mag...my phosphate is .73! lol no idea why but i have no algae and corals seem happy. I run a single radion xr30 pro gen 4 over my 65g.
what's the PAR range on your SPS? mine is ~225-420 depending on depth and location.

I am waiting in line to rent a par meter from BRS , I never have used one. I have checked the top of the water with a cheap lux meter that I bought from amazon. All those math calculations ain’t for me, lol. I will update you when I get my turn with the par meter, and I am glad that I explained myself better and you can compare both tanks with better info . And to me stability is key, I have learned to make any changes slowly and with careful eyes looking at everything inside the tank. Stay tuned in, and send me a link to any thread that has any pictures of your Reef so that I can check it out:cool:

Come check us out and have an adult beverage ;). PM me when you get into town, I think it’ll be cool to hang with a fellow reefer.

Beautiful tank! Do you have to get pretty much everything online? I remember when I lived in Marathon the closest thing to a LFS had nothing related to salt. Used to work at Dolphin Research Center doing photo/video work. I'm overdue for a return visit. I miss the Keys reef.

Thank You very much, it’s still the same down here, I have 3 fish that I got from a fellow reefer that out grew her tank and I adopted ,the other fish from Miami LFS including a few corals as well. 80% of the corals were purchased online, and the ricordia garden I got from a local collector that’s been doing it for a while down here. I am stuck in this island life because of Yellowtail snapper fishing , what a life... and I am alergic to the cold weather ;):). I also can’t leave because my wife is a makeup artist, and does makeup for a lot of weddings. My boats name is M&M too and is docked behind Conch Republic Seafood Company, come check us out!!!

So I decided to go a little DIY and made an in-sump algae scrubber... Nothing crazy and after a 3 different tries, I ended up with this. I got 2 pieces of yarn plastic stitching material (Amazon) long enough to reach side to side, where the 1st chamber enter’s 2nd, and used 4 tie wraps to hold. The Kessil H80 pointed at the mesh, and run both refuigium and scrubber about 16 hours a day. Here are some pictures. Let me know what y’all think about it, and some pros and cons, standing by!!! Thank You

So I won this Baskin and Robins acro from @AquariumSpecialty (first time that I win something by the way) in a contest in December, received it on 1/09/19, so about 20 days into being inside my reef. Let’s see together what this little gem turns into!!!!! It’s starting to color up and encrust, tell me what y’all think :D
