Recently a yellow looking type sponge has started growing in my aquarium and recently my yellow leather sarcophyton coral that I have had for 15 years died, and before that there were some montipora frags that are loosing color. Water perameters good, did remove dying leather coral, took out one sponge by a montipora. Can yellow sponges be toxic to corals????

yea.. i know if any part of a sponge decays and is not removed they produce toxins

Thanks, even since I removed the one sponge the monti frags that were close to it look a lot better.

Ive always heard white sponges were not good. I have alot of pink yellow and orange sponge on my Gulf Rock.....FWIW
