WELCOME TO KING TIDE LAGOON!

How's it going everyone? Decided to catch up on a build thread since I haven't had one yet.. This Innovative Marine Lagoon 25 has been a tank moved around from place to place in the past couple years and finally seems to have found a spot where it will sit possibly for another year or so. The tank at one point was home to my beautiful clown harem of five (3 misbar black and 2 midnight) and all the way to a coral only system. Regardless, the lagoon is back up and going and currently running on this equipment:

The new and improved King Tide Lagoon is a mixed reef with a mixture of rare fish and interesting corals/inverts

Tank: Innovative Marine Lagoon 25

Filtration: inTank Media basket holders (2-both sides), Eshopps Nano Skimmer, Tunze ATO unit

Return Pump: Stock (TRASH ITS LOUD AND NEED TO CHANGE HELP LOL)

Wavemaker: Mp10 w/backup battery

Controller: APEX Unit and Neptune AFS unit

Cover: Custom Top Lid aquarium cover (took some time, but well worth it)

The tank has been up and running now for 5 months and seems happy again to have life back in it. I'm currently contemplating shifting it over a room to make room for a larger tank to get up and cycling to make the move for things, but at the same time the size is perfect for me and the fish seem extremely healthy and happy. Here is a list of the current livestock.. excluding corals will get into that on a later post.

Livestock: Two Spotcinctus Clowns (paired.. female is a bruiser), Cherub Angel, Chalk Basslet, and a Hawiian Cleaner Wrasse (current thread on this guy going as well)

CUC: Tuxedo Urchin, 1 Turbo Snail, a few trochus, two bumble bee snails, and a Christmas Tree Rock (filter feeder calling it a cleaner.. also thread on this guy as well)

Their feeding is all over the place and a variety of a diet. I feel that a change in diet is key to the best possible health in your tank, but I also have a staple flake food that helps whenever I need assistance with feeding or I am feeling lazy.

Underneath the tank I have the controller and the mess of cords that I need to begin building a controller board for. Not super great at DIY, but bought myself some starboard from a plastics store locally and going to measure things out then give it a go. Once ready to mount I will just do a water change and get everything turned off for a bit with an airstone standing by working while I get it all plumed in.

Going to get deeper into the corals in the tank here soon, but wanted to start my build thread! Cheers all and happy reefing!

I have said it so many times, but I will say it again.. SOFT CORALS ARE THE JAM

Picked up from my LFS a very unique soft coral. Everyone knows the common Xenia coral, but have you seen a single stalk form of the Xenia? This coral was from a shipment to a PNW fish store some 30 years ago and here it has continued to proliferate and make more and more babes. I was excited to snag a piece of this and look really forward to seeing it acclimate and get acquainted to the lagoon!

Hope you all are well and doing good! Happy Reefing!

I missed this threads updates.
For some reason my writing of words is slanted now as well. I had nothing to do with that.
All I wanna do is see some shrooms:)

Hello all, and hello from the King Tide Lagoon!!

It has been far too long since I have dropped an update in this thread and I apologize! The Lagoon continues to grow thicker and fuller every single day. The transition from a mixed reef to a soft coral dominant system is VERY REAL.. I have fallen back in love with softies and realized that I wanted this tank to mirror some of my earliest memories of creating reefs in this hobby.

As for stocking there has been a ton of coral purchases and some sell offs... hard to pin point exactly what has happened since that November update video, but A LOT has changed! As for fish... well we are still sitting at the clown pair, the hawiian cleaner wrasse, and the cherub angel (THE ANGEL NEEDS TO GO)...

As for corals there has been an addition of a gorgeous green indo toadstool, pulsing sinularia, and many... I mean MANY new mushrooms.

Hoping you all are well and thank you all so much for the support with this build and the lagoon sends all its love, feel free to ask any questions and I will be sure to answer them! Cheers! (cracks beer!)

Always good to see an update Blaine!

Things are looking good as usual ;)
Appreciate you my friend! Had been way too long since I had updated my build threads and it needed to happen!

The lagoon appreciates the love as well!

@ReeferBlaine. Stupid question. What is the clear box in the left hand corner? I can’t see what in it.
2) Do you run carbon?
3) Is that a big patch of macro in the middle? Looks really healthy if it is.

Never a stupid question!

1. Both the clear boxes on the left are mushroom boxes created by PNW Custom! Awesome custom acrylic work that he does, checkout his site!

2. I run carbon every once and blue moon, but mainly I do not... I just picked up some Chemi-Blue nano packs and will probably get one in the tank here soon!

3. It is! Nice eye! Its a big chunk of red gracilaria hayi !

I am getting a HAUL of mushrooms in tomorrow! Some wild no name bounces, some fire from @TCK Corals , and another OG (fourth in total for the lagoon) and I cannot wait!

Wanted to share with you all the excitement for more mushies!
