I picked up a Klir Di-4 this weekend at New Wave Aquaria in MN. I wanted to get one while they were in stock in case I couldn't later. They do not have the Red Sea adapter out yet but I'll give it a few weeks. If it doesn't come out it doesn't look like it would be hard to fabricate. I'm also adding a 1" flow meter to my return to see if I need one or two Klir's.

I will update with my honest observations as I proceed. I am going to install it on a Red Sea Reefer 350. As I mentioned, the adapter is currently not available. CoralVue has said it will be released "soon" but they have no time frame. If they don't give a release date and I don't have one in a week or two I'll look into making my own adapter.

I finally had time to install mine in my Red Sea Reefer 350. I made a bracket, it has a bit of bypass due to my lackluster milling abilities but the bulk of the water is being filtered. I may try to find a way to restrict the bypass but my primary thought is that this is a stopgap until Klir releases their adapter unless theirs has more bypass than mine. :)

I put this in my Apex for the outlet the Klir is connected to. My hope is that it shuts down the power to the Klir if my high water optical sensor for my ATO is on, my return pump outlet is off, or the Apex loses power. This is to avoid high water situations that are expected and do not mean the fleece needs to be advanced. I put in the defer 15:00 to let the water level settle after the sump level returns to normal. If anyone sees any errors please let me know.

Fallback ON
Set ON
If Swx3_2 = CLOSED Then OFF
If Outlet RetPump_2_3 = OFF Then OFF
If Power Apex Off 001 Then OFF
Defer 15:00 Then ON

Correction, I had an error on line 3. It should be:

Fallback ON
Set ON
If Swx3_2 CLOSED Then OFF
If Outlet RetPump_2_3 = OFF Then OFF
If Power Apex Off 001 Then OFF
Defer 15:00 Then ON

I wasn't pleased with the amount of bypass I was getting so I added EPDM extra small weather stripping, it has really helped cut down the bypass to a reasonable amount.

An update on use - so far it has only advanced when I tested the motor and the picture shows how far I moved the fleece. The flow is still good and the water is clear, so far I am impressed. I was changing out filter socks (one mesh and one 200 micron felt) every three days on average and I installed it on 9/3/2018.

I couldn't agree more. That is my hope as well because I am NOT cutting up a brand new Trigger 39. They say that eventually they will release a red sea adapter so hopefully they release a Trigger adapter as well. It seems like they just made these to fit their Icecap sumps or you have to use their own bracket, which is huge.

I made my own plate using some 1/4" acrylic spare from tap plastic. Works great in the trigger 39 I have it in.

I can't speak to Trigger sumps as I don't have one. The issue with Red Sea is the design of the sock tray. First the socks are placed in holders that slide into the tray, when the holder is not there the opening is U shaped not round. The second issue is that when the socks overflow the water level doesn't rise in that part of the sump. The Klir needs the water to rise to engage the sensor that advances the fleece. An adapter is required to compensate for those issues.
