So far so good. I stopped filling at a little over 3/4 full. If that’s good in the morning I will fill the rest of the way and fill the sump again and run system.
Got to say it’s getting really exciting to see this tank getting wet.
Still hold water not a drop. Filling up the last bit and sump and going to run pump.
Zero deflection in the glass. I’m glad that I decided to get the 6 inch wide glass pieces for the euro bracing instead of using the 2 inch that the tank calculator gave me to use.
So perfect and quite. Only using one of the 2 inch drains. Lots of water flowing. Now to water test for awhile not sure how long and open to suggestions on time frame. I did sump for couple weeks already.
OK so I drained the tank. I had a small issue with the overflow Box evidently the a poxy does not stick to PVC panel boards the same as PVC fittings and pipe. the directions said to put primer on PVC so that the epoxy what adhere but on the PVC panel boards the epoxy sticks better without the primer so now I have stripped all of the a poxy off of the Box and have put PVC glue around all the edges which the silicon will seal to. I can make sure that there is no leaking now from the Box and there won't be any issues. The issue was the weight of the water pushed against a Box with no water on the back side and leaked through. I have also decided to move the location of the one emergency overflow pipe openings farther away from the edge of the Box because water was poured over the top and straight down it instead of a trickle.
Setting the box back in tomorrow with some supportive structures behind it made out of pvc pipes. Moving the one emergency drain opening further back because it had water draining directly into it as it was right next to the edge of the box.
Guess im glad this happened because i would have left it and it would have really annoyed me. It will be much easier to tune the drains now.
I forgot to add in the water capacity of the skimmer. And most people would say why bother but my skimmer is a skimmonster at 32 gallons. It will be running at 25 gallons.
So 687 here we go. Lol... crazy I know.
I'm running the sump with more than the metered amount of water previously assessed but im going to leave it alone to account for all the LR in the tank and sump.
So i think I'll be pretty spot on at 687 gallons with rocks and such in tank.
Worked on plumbing up the skimmonster to the sump. Made a air silencer and recirculating air line. I run ozone so I want to keep it from escaping as much as possible.
Heading up to the store to get the last piece of flexible pipe to hook up the skimmer and then and fill in up the display with water again and the skimmer to run it
